One of the goals on my Wedding Fit List is to run a sub 2 hour half marathon.

I’ve chosen to attempt this at the Ealing Half Marathon on 28th September 2014. The race is exactly one week before my wedding, which is cutting it a bit fine in terms of achieving the goal before the big day, but on the plus side it does give me lots of time to prepare.

I’ve heard such good things about the Ealing Half – it was voted the Number One Half Marathon in the UK in the Runners Awards 2014 – and as a West London girl, it’s my local half marathon so I’ll be able to count on lots of support from friends and family.

I’m wondering whether to mark the race in some way. LD has already promised to run with me (sacrificing his own half marathon PB ambitions, I might add) … maybe a running wedding dress like this one from Oiselle (which came complete with a gel belt garter!)

This is the longest race that I have planned for 2014 so I really want to make sure that I make the most of it. I’m looking at training plans now, do you have any tips for me?
